Dr. George Picha – Western Reserve Plastic Surgery

Dr. Picha is a board-certified Cleveland plastic surgeon with over 20 years of plastic surgery experience. He is a master of aesthetics and has an astute understanding of balance and beauty, which he applies to all of his surgical procedures. Dr. Picha has performed approximately 1000 + breast augmentations, hundreds of face lifts and body sculpting procedures and numerous blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty surgeries. He is not only a plastic surgeon but also holds a Ph.D. in biomedical/biomaterials engineering, which he uses in the practice of plastic surgery to better understand wound healing as well as the ways new technologies interface with the body. Using this degree, Dr. Picha worked with Dow Corning to invent technology to enhance the performance of breast implants used today. He is unique and precise in his approach to treating his Cleveland breast augmentation and other cosmetic surgery patients from the initial consultation to the post-operative phase of the patient's peri-operative experience.

Dr. Picha is also highly skilled in endoscopic facial surgery, providing a more rapid recovery due to the ability to make minimal incisions, and he has pioneered the modified facelift, which allows the patient to return to normal activities in 24 hours. Body sculpting procedures performed include liposuction, laser liposuction (LifeSculpt), tummy tucks, and breast reduction. In his more non-invasive treatments Dr. Picha takes an artistic approach to the use of Botox, enabling him to contour and lift the brow, and in his techniques with soft tissue fillers such as Juvederm (see Non-Invasive Procedures) that can help reduce the appearance of lines around the eyes and mouth.

As a recognized plastic surgeon in Cleveland, Dr. Picha is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, participating in continuing education and the education of his staff. Dr. Picha specializes in breast augmentation and holds a special interest in the implants themselves, currently serving on the board of the Breast Implant Follow Up Study (BIFS) Implant Retrieval Program for the Allergan Corporation. Dr. Picha worked with NASA in the 1980's to pioneer surface technology to control incidence of contracture and implant rejection and worked on other advanced technologies such as lasers prior to their entry to the marketplace. Over the years, he has been published in numerous medical journals, secured over 50 patents on medical devices, and received many research awards.
