Western Reserve Plastic Surgery offers the newest and most innovative treatments with regards to non-invasive treatments. In today’s busy world we all want to look our best, and we want to do it with little to no down time. Dr. Picha understands that this is what patients want, so we have compiled a list of non-invasive treatments available to our patients. Remember that most of these procedures are temporary but the results are dramatic.

Botox® Cosmetic - The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name Botox®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that Botox® is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes. Recently Dr. George Picha was recognized as a Gold-Level Network provider, which is based on the number of Botox treatments that a surgeon performs.

Radiesse® – The latest technological advancement in lip and line filler, a minimally invasive procedure option for treatment of deep facial lines, folds, and depressions. Radiesse‚ has been used in the medical arena for many years for treatment of vocal fold insufficiency and radiographic tissue marking. Just like Botox‚, it was discovered that Radiesse‚ could be used for cosmetic procedures. We are happy to know that as of January 2007 this product is now FDA approved for cosmetic treatments. We have also been informed that the duration of the product is from 12-18 months, making it a longer lasting alternative for patients.

Juvederm® - From the makers of Botox® comes the newest formulation of hylauronic acids to be used as dermal fillers. This product was approved at the end of 2006 and Dr. Picha was fortunate enough to be part of the clinical trials. He also was involved in instructing other doctors on how to administer the treatment. This product has undergone comprehensive research and development. The product comes in two formulations and can be used to correct deep nasolabial folds, under eye thinning and shadowing and to plump the lips. The product has been found to last 4-6 months in trials.
